CBR Youth Connect is excited to announce many new developments in our Human-Animal Connection initiatives including educational resources and training, community partnerships, and new projects!
A central element in our new materials will be a versatile resource guide focused on developing healthy relationships between children and animals through a variety of psychoeducational and experiential activities.
Through partnership with Adoption Options, an adoption and foster agency seeking to enhance relationships between children and animals in foster homes, professional training and case consultation services will be developed to address common challenges and provide preventative measures and exercises to build positive interactions with animals in the home environment.
Through partnership with the University of Denver Institute for Human-Animal Connection, CBR Youth Connect will be sponsoring future research symposiums enhancing our mission in supporting youth resiliency and connecting with local community initiatives.
And our last announcement for now with so much more to come… We are developing a new award which will honor inspiring relationships between children and animals across the range of companion animals, service animals, and emotional support animals! We hope to connect with schools, treatment centers, and other agencies supporting youth to acknowledge children with positive stories involving a connection with an animal which has benefitted the growth and resiliency of the child as well as the animal. More details on this award will be announced soon!
As we expand our Human-Animal Connection resources and initiatives, we would love to connect with organizations and individuals across Colorado who have a mutual passion and appreciation for the valuable connections between humans and animals. We hope to develop a network of partnerships supporting positive youth development through mindful educational experiences with animals. Please reach out to Carly Kristobek at carly@youthconnect.org with any human-animal thoughts and questions!
