CBR Youth Connect joined the Institute for Human-Animal Connection to finish the academic year with the spring research seminar, bringing together students, researchers, and community leaders.
This seminar honored the incredibly impactful partnership between PetSmart Charities, IHAC, and 30 animal welfare organizations across the US, collaborating to support communities historically excluded from access to veterinary care. Since 2023, these partners have connected with more than 6,000 community members to better understand their experiences and co-create solutions rooted in trust, inclusion, and community voice.
Speakers from Seattle Veterinary Outreach and The Inner Pup shared their experiences building trusting relationships with community members to guide the development of programs that reflect the values and needs of each community.
