Kingston was nominated for the HERO-WITHIN Award by his Pueblo Central school counselor and soccer coach—two people who see firsthand the resilience he brings to his school community every day. Known for his positive outlook and uplifting spirit, Kingston makes a difference by showing up and encouraging others.
At CBR YouthConnect, HERO-WITHIN is about meeting youth where they are and connecting them to opportunities that matter to them. For Kingston, that’s soccer. With his Special Opportunity Grant, we partnered with his school and family to cover soccer fees, provide new cleats, and make sure he has the ball that rarely leaves his side.
By partnering this way, we celebrate resilience—working with schools and trusted adults to turn potential into opportunity and keep young people’s passions moving forward.
