Simone is a remarkable young woman whose courage, leadership, and determination have opened doors for others. When the Boy Scouts of America began welcoming girls into its programs, Simone and her mother saw an opportunity to create something new. Together, they founded the first all-female Scout troop in their area, building a community where young women could challenge themselves, develop leadership skills, and explore the outdoors. Throughout high school, Simone has balanced the demands of academics and Scouting with grace and perseverance. An excellent student and a brave soul, she embraced every challenge, from camping expeditions and service projects to leadership responsibilities within her troop. Her hard work and dedication recently culminated in earning the prestigious Eagle Scout rank, a testament to her commitment, character, and resilience.
Simone continues to inspire others through her creativity and vision. At CBR YouthConnect’s HERO-WITHIN program, we love walking alongside students like Simone as they go after their goals. Simone put her scholarship to great use, she purchased a camera to document her troop’s outdoor adventures, preserving memories and telling the story of a pioneering group of young women forging new paths together. Through her leadership, determination, and willingness to step into uncharted territory, Simone exemplifies the spirit of resilience and serves as a powerful role model for her peers.
