This unique connection with this incredible local sanctuary created a special opportunity for families to connect with rescued farm animals while learning about compassion, resilience, and healing.
Broken Shovels Farm Sanctuary, located in Henderson, Colorado, is dedicated to providing a safe and compassionate home for animals who have overcome abuse and neglect. Their mission centers on creating positive, respectful, and trustworthy interactions between animals and humans – an experience that beautifully mirrors the themes of safety and belonging that are central to the foster and adoptive community.
CBR Youth Connect sponsored 30 admission tickets for Adoption Options families to attend Broken Shovels’ popular Sanctuary Snuggle event on June 14th. This event offered families a relaxing morning filled with gentle animal interactions, joyful moments of connection, and opportunities to learn from the animals’ personal journeys. For many children, meeting animals who have navigated hardship and found safety can provide a powerful and relatable way to explore resilience and trust.
