Diego is building something! With his HERO-WITHIN scholarship, Diego bought the essentials—buckets, a pressure washer, microfiber towels— and now he is starting his own car detailing business. For now, it’s a “side hustle,” but he plans on turning it into a future. Diego is willing to do what it takes—one car at a time— until he graduates from high school this summer. Then, it is his way forward. “I’m going to build this thing,” he says. “Now that I have the equipment, I know I can do it.”
HERO-WITHIN is an “award and special interest grant” program designed to honor and inspire youth facing adversity who are becoming remarkably resilient.
